Cass Floresca, originally from Spain, arrived in the UK in 2018 with a dream of becoming a writer. She pursued a degree in English and Creative Writing at Coventry University, where her love for storytelling evolved into a deeper connection with the arts. Immersed in Coventry’s vibrant creative scene through events like the Fire and Dust open mic nights, Cass found more than just a platform for her poetry—she found a sense of community and belonging.

Motivated to expand her creative practice, Cass went on to study Multiplatform and Mobile Journalism at Birmingham City University. During her MA, she not only discovered a strong interest in media and radio, but also developed a powerful drive to explore and challenge social issues—especially those affecting women. Cass became increasingly passionate about activism and representation. This led to the creation of her podcast project, Bad Blood, which investigates the stigma surrounding menstruation and opens up necessary conversations around taboo topics often ignored in mainstream media. This drive to question, investigate, and platform marginalised voices became a defining element of her work.

Her inquisitive nature and journalistic training led her to Hillz FM , where she grew from a radio presenter into a Steering Group member, using the airwaves as a tool to inform, empower, and amplify community voices. Her curiosity about community dynamics and commitment to grassroots change also guided her into community development work, most notably at the WATCH Charity , where she continues to champion inclusivity, equity, and creative engagement at a local level.

Cass’s media and radio background has since expanded into podcasting, where she continued to explore different mediums of storytelling. She co-created and co-hosted A Cup of Growth, a podcast that unpacks the complexities of adulthood from the perspectives of young people navigating life’s transitions, cultural expectations, and personal development.

Today, Cass thrives as a freelance producer focusing on theatre, driven by a mission to create impactful work that resonates with audiences’ experiences. Her journey in the arts continues to evolve, guided by a commitment to telling meaningful stories and amplifying voices that often go unheard. Cass is focused on fusing creativity and community work—shaping inclusive spaces through every medium she touches. Through her work, she aims to inspire others, just as the arts have profoundly inspired her.
